Overview
The 1st4sport Level 1 Award in Coaching Bowls is ideal for learners aspiring to become Bowls coaches.
They will learn the key principles and practice of safe, ethical, and effective management and coaching of Bowls sessions, enabling them to launch their career in delivering enjoyable and productive sessions to adults and young people.
They will also learn about the practical and theoretical aspects of delivering and evaluating coaching activities in Bowls.
If your learner is under the age of 18, this qualification will enable them to work as an assistant Bowls coach operating under the supervision of a Level 2 qualified Bowls coach.
If your learner is over the age of 18, they will be able to work as a Bowls coach or a bowls activity facilitator.
This qualification is recognised as the industry standard Level 1 qualification for coaches by UK Coaching. It is aligned to the UKCC criteria and is UKCC endorsed.

Learners achieving this qualification might consider progression to the following qualifications 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Bowls.
They should look to develop their learning and knowledge of Bowls by working with other, more experienced, coaches. Following a period of practice as a qualified coach, learners may choose to develop their skills by participating in continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities offered within Bowls and other coaching-related organisations.
Learners achieving this qualification might consider progression to the following qualifications 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Bowls.
